Schaumburg, a US engineering company, has announced the immediate availability of 40 new additions to its line of XYZ-axis stages for machine builders and other designers of high-precision motion systems. Many of these new stages offer an intricate linear ball guide system, developed by diversified engineering company Misumi engineers, which creates a gothic arch groove ball guide on both the upper and lower side of the stage body, creating two arcs and four ball contact points. These new stages also have Misumi low-temperature black chrome plating as one of the options available.Misumi’s new stages are offered in all axis combinations. Materials of construction avail-able include aluminum with black anodising, brass or 440C stainless steel with electroless nickel plating. Dovetail, linear ball and crossed roller styles are offered, with rack and pinion, feed screw or micrometer head feed mechanisms. As examples, the XSGB Series X-axis stages feature a linear ball guide system, low-temperature black chrome plating and the highest movement accuracy to 3-mm straightness. The XSL Series multimount stages with dovetail-feed screw feature rotation of the positioning handle to a quarter of the rack and pinion and a multi-start thread.Misumi’s new XEEG Series X-axis stages with dovetail groove and hexagonal wrench design feature low overall height and no handle, socket head screw and corrosion-resistant, low-temperature black chrome plating.
