Phoenix Contact’s S-MAX 400 CE PN controller is a ready-to-run combination of PC platform, PLC runtime, and fieldbus master with Profinet and Interbus support. In addition to its usual controller functions, the system also implements all the tasks involved in communicating with distributed control or ERP systems. This system also has an integrated Web server for remote machine control, an FTP server for exchanging data, as well as open TCP/IP or UDP components.
As real-time capable fieldbuses, a Profinet I/O controller and an Interbus master have been integrated into the device, the PLC and fieldbus functions can be programmed universally using Phoenix Contact’s PC Worx automation software. According to Phoenix, the S-MAX 400 CE PN can process a wide variety of controller tasks quickly and reliably.
