ABB and Hyflux in Joint Technology Collaboration

ABB has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Hyflux, the environmental solutions company, for a joint technology collaboration on energy efficiency technology and solutions.
The MOU was signed on June 23 by Hyflux Group Deputy CEO Sam Ong, and ABB Singapore President and Country Manager James Foo at the Singapore International Water Week (SIWW) 2009, which is taking place at Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The signing of the MOU signifies ABB's and Hyflux’s desire to enhance collaboration and mutual benefits by using ABB’s latest energy efficient technology and solutions in the areas of Reverse Osmosis membrane optimizing and monitoring system, as well as pump efficiency performance management.
"I believe this collaboration carries great potential. Both ABB and Hyflux are leading innovators in our respective fields, well-known for our advanced technologies and engineering expertise. Our focus on energy efficient technology for processing a valuable resource like water demonstrates our companies' commitment to dedicate our technological resources to develop sustainable solutions," said James Foo, president and country manager of ABB in Singapore.
“Energy and operational efficiency has been a competitive edge for Hyflux’s plants,” said Hyflux’s Sam Ong. “Through our collaboration with ABB, we hope to take plant performance to the next level and deliver more affordable solutions to our clients worldwide.”
